Originally stemming from the Alemannic region, the “Landjäger (spicy smoked sausage)” used to be deemed a “victual with a very long shelf life for field and vineyard”. Nowadays they are enjoyed as a popular snack when taking a walk and on trips, as well as for light meals.
Hearty, full-bodied and made completely of sausage! It is ideal for trips in the car as well as for picnics or hearty meals at home.
Known as a typical “backpack sausage” Landjäger (spicy smoked sausage) are held in the hand and eaten with or without bread. Ideal accompaniment would, e.g. be pickled preserves such as gherkins and a refreshingly chilled beer.
